Mock Shake and Bake Years ago I found a recipe for Shake and Bake tofu. It was made using Shake and Bake prepackaged mix. Well, I just found a homemade recipe version found at http://www.connectedmoms.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13872 I am wondering if anyone else has ever tried either a homemade or prepackaged Tofu Shake and Bake recipe. Multiple recipes, same ingredients. Hi, I'm new to being a vegetarian (and so far loving it by the way :) I just wondered if anybody has a good few different recipes for dinner meals that I could make out of one same set of ingredients (give or a take a few)...as I'm on a tight budget, and would find it helpful to only have to buy one big set of ingredients to start until I've learnt more new veggie recipes. Anything anybody could tell me would be really helpful. Thanks in advance :) Post Date: 01/18/15, Replies: 3
My First Blog Hey all, I have just recently started my very first blog and would love to have some more people from the vegan/veggie and well anyone world support the blog. The blog is going to be all about trying to transfer a popular non-vegan cookbook into a vegan book. The book that was voted on via the blog is Naked Chef, by Jamie Oliver. Which is actually great, since it starts off pretty easy and then gets pretty difficult as the book moves on. I also think this book is great because of the choice of ingredients Jamie uses. Well thanks a lot for supporting even if you just take a quick peek. Projectveg: projectveg.wordpress.com/ Post Date: 01/31/10, Replies: 0
My First Vegan From-Scratch Dinner Attempt I am excited about the dinner that I am cooking tonight for my family (& my Dad and Stepmom, who are not vegetarians)! It's a recipe from the "Peas & Thank You" cookbook - 'almost from scratch lasagna'. Has anyone already tried this recipe? If so, how did everything turn out? I will post a pic and give a review of the meal after it's done. Hopefully the outcome will be good! Wish me luck! :) Post Date: 03/15/13, Replies: 5

noegg recipe? Hello! Usually I make cakes without this ingredient but I found it in a regular supermarket and I felt like buying it, the problem is that I don't know how to use it! Maybe I need a non-vegan recipe and just replace the egg? Some idea about cakes or other meals with "noegg"? Thank you ^^ Post Date: 04/28/14, Replies: 2

Pulse expert needed for my black beans I have been making black beans from cans for some time now and they usually turn out extremely well. I slow cook them for 5-6 hours with sauted onion, garlic, cumin and a little cayenne. By this method they have an incredibly rich, addictive and satisfying taste. Recently I tried making them from soaked dried beans but they didn't turn out nearly as well. I cooked them for much longer period - until they were mush - but they never quite lost that slightly bitter, pasty taste of undercooked beans. Are there any pulse experts who can help? Quick and dirty supermarket meals I am starting a thread about superquick vegan meals that can be easily assembled from UK supermarkets- not necessarily healthy though! One great tasty lightning speed time to assemble dinner is this: Sainsbury's tortilla wraps I can Spicy Refried beans Sainsbury's guacomole Sainsbury's Salsa Marigold Nutritional Yeast flakes Heat the beans- fill 1 or 2 tortilla wraps with them, smear the guacomole on, spoon some salsa on, sprinkle yeast flakes on then fold. The flakes really finish it off and if you get Sainsbury's guacamole, tortillas and salsa you know that they are all vegan. Post Date: 10/02/09, Replies: 0
quick desert/snack/breakfast recipie this is something i tried today and it was delicious :]. but a little messy; I'm still working out details in the recipe such as time in the microwave. these are estimates. this is just a quick and fun idea. Honey Peanut Butter Banana Burrito *wow thats a tongue twister* Ingredients: Peanut Butter *for protein* Flour Tortilla (not sure about the ingredients as far as vegans are concerned! sorry!) Banana *for potassium* Honey *for anti-oxidants* (vegans could use syrup in place of this) Directions: heat the tortilla for about 20 seconds in the microwave to warm it up. then spread some peanut butter *i use smooth but crunch could work* on the tortilla. since it was heated it will spread fairly easily. Then drizzle on some honey and put back in the microwave for 11 more seconds. Next slice part of a banana into it; wrap it up; and enjoy :]. It is quite possible one of the most delicious things I've ever had. though its kind of runny and messy; so keep some napkins at hand :]. Post Date: 04/12/10, Replies: 1

Raw Chocolate Elixir Hey guys, I make this shake about every other day now. It's super delicious. (see the bottom of this post for a confession I have to make about this drink...) Here's the recipe: INGREDIENTS 1 Young coconut 1 to 2 tbsp raw cacao powder, to taste 1 to 2 ice cubes DIRECTIONS 1) Crack open that young coconut and pour all the water into your blender. You might want to strain the water if your cracking is sloppy — no one likes to drink splinters! 2) Next, scrape out the meat of the coconut and clean off any of the hard wood bits that might have come off with the scrapings. I like to rinse the coconut meat under water to be sure I have removed all the little wood bits. 3) Toss all of the cleaned meat into the blender, along with the raw cacao powder and ice cubes, and blend on high-speed until all of the meat is broken down into heavenly bliss (about 30 to 45 seconds for me). 4) Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy! I have a confession to make though...it's not my recipe! Giving credit where credit is due: www.rawlifestylediet.com/blog/delicious-raw-chocolate-elixir/ Post Date: 04/24/12, Replies: 1
