I actually read an article in Vegetarian Times about 5 years ago that talks about making hummus creamier by incorporating some of the cooking liquid from the chickpeas when you puree it... it actually works really well... and is much less of a pain than peeling chickpeas...

Just make sure you throw out the original soaking water to prevent gas! But use the cooking water, yes.
