SOme folks might be looking for housemates, or some such thing where diet/lifestyle is important, and where ads in other places (like Craigslist, e.g,) are just a waste of time, and tend toward attracting scams and cons. | Login as a restaurant Hi there, everyone ! I'm a little bit dissconcerned because I don't know how to upload pictures from the restaurant. At the main page, I can only upload the profile pic. Also I cannot download the HappyCow app because my phone has not the right version to get it. Maybe someone can help me? | Restaurants closed down I'm traveling in South America at the moment and have encountered this problem multiple times. Each time I have of course reported them as closed on Happy Cow but it's really annoying and shouldn't be happening. So I was wondering if it's possible to add a feature which flags the restaurant up as possibly being closed if someone hasn't posted a review in more than a year? | How Long Before a Draft Post is Timed Out? Yes, yes, we all appreciate that we need to be sensible and prepare anything of substance in a programme such as 'Word' and then cut and paste it. In the real world however we are human and sometimes commence what is intended as being a short reply in situ. It gets longer - time drifts by - and then BOOM! One's internet has lost connection to that page and half an hour's work has also been permanently lost. My i.t. knowledge is close to zero, but I get the impression that on many sites one is not timed out provided one keeps typing. However, I lost a detailed post here which was disappointing, particularly as I put in a lot of work instead of going to bed. Please advise as to how exactly the timed out procedure works here. | function rooms for private parties I would love it if Happy Cow could somehow list info for restaurants that have a private function room for parties. I have been pulling my hair out trying to find such a place in Vancouver. I suppose it's not such a big deal for cities with very few options but for larger cities, it is a real mission to find out this information! Cheers! | Veg Airport Listings I wish there was a better way to add listings in airports... maybe I'm missing something? I just add it as a regular restaurant and then in the "cross streets" field write the terminal. It would be great if there was a way to add listings to an airport? | Boss's play roulette of under 18 workers I think i know now why my boss trash talked his employee's when i was dining where i ate w a friend ..it's cause he has good staff but doesn't call them to work ,and uses girls that won't speak up about getting the correct pay or even a consistant work schedule . I believe he is purposly throwing away 18 + year old workers & only keeping the one's that accept the rate of 10 bucks per hour . Long story short ,don't fall for nice owners of a business they probably also only go for the cheap staff even if their staff never mention pay .Even if their vegg friendly don't fall for the nicest bosses. | Listings for transport operators Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to add a train/plane/ship company on HappyCow? SJ, the Swedish state railways, now have vegan breakfasts and hot lunches and dinners in their buffets, and these can be ordered in advance when buying the ticket in advance to guarantee there will be enough in stock. The German national rail company has also advertised recently that they are introducing a vegan menu. | link to happycow android app from email i've installed the pro version of the android app on my phone. i also subscribe to email updates from happy cow. when i click on the links, either through my browser or the email app, it redirects me to a browser page that says "get the happycow app", with the only options being "get it on google play" or "go to happycow website". how can i skip this step and be immediately directed to the happycow app which is already installed? i'm using android 5.0 on an asus zenfone, if it helps. | Change Icon - Favourite List When you add an item to your favourite list, the green heart on the place's page should change so users know it's been marked as a one of their favourites. | Grandfathered 5 Stars Reviews I just noticed when trying to give my favorite restaurant a 5 star review that I was only able to give them a maximum of 4 stars for only being veg-friendly. I personally have no problem with this and support this rating system. Though, I noticed earlier when giving another review to SOL CAL cafe, that it shows them with 4 1/2 stars while scrolling through. Over a year ago they switched from being fully vegan to serving meat and dairy. It seems they were allowed to grandfather in their 5 star ratings from when they were vegan. It doesn't seem fair to me that restaurants that abandon vegetarianism get to keep their ratings exclusive to vegetarian restaurants and not deal with the same handicap as their competitors. Terese made me smile this morning with her Jan, 1, 2009 review - I thoroughly enjoyed reading her experience of the tiny "Po Tai Vegetarian Cafe" in East Kowloon. See - happycow.net/reviews.php?id=11010 18 months ago I had a wonderful meal / experience in Po Tai - it is great to know that the little place is still buzzing. I found "Po Tai" as I was riding a bus one day to the old Hong Kong Airport site - I noticed the Chinese character for "Vegetarian" above the storefront & jumped off the bus to try it out. . .
