- New organic "canteen" in Barbes!
Le Myrha just opened few days ago, and already looks promising. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, the staff looks kind and professional, and the food is tasty and healthy. It's an organic restaurant without table service, their main offer is a "formule" including a composed warm meal, a salad or dessert and a drink for 10 euros. Since everything is organic and homemade, that makes it a really good deal! It's hard to find a cheaper place in Paris for homemade food. Most products are vegan, but they serve optional eggs or chicken with their hot dish. They don't carry any dairy product, if you ask for milk for your coffee they'll give you homemade almond milk. Everything is gluten free except bread. Desserts are made with gluten-free flours they apparently mill in-house. According to the chef, they'll be trying to veganize completely their offer once the business is well-established. The owners plan to open a vegan grocery store next to the restaurant, so it seems they're quite into the vegan business, but they preferred to serve some animal food at the beginning in order to attract locals (there aren't any vegan or health food places in the area).
