- Macrobiotic food in a family cafe
It felt like we joined the family for lunch! We were welcomed enthusiastically into the small cafe behind the shop part, which felt like a family dining room, and the young children practiced their English with gran's encouragement while Mum cooked our lunch and the family kitten ran up and down. I think they have a set meal each day - there wasn't a menu and they just kept feeding us until we said we were full up! Food is all vegan and macrobiotic. There was a brown rice, bean and veg "cake" served in banana leaves with tamarind sauce, ground sesame seeds, steamed vegetables and spicy pickled veg. Then there was a miso soup with green leaves. Unlimited hot green tea is served in a jug. We were too full to try another rice cake so they wrapped it in banana leaves for us to take with us. 100k dong for 2 people so very good value for a different experience.
