  • Great food, great service

"Han's Organic Cafe" is located about 10 minutes walking from Ebisu station. Alternatively you can take the bus, there's a bus stop right in front of the place. It's located above a wine bar, so don't make the mistake of entering that place. Instead take the little stairway on the right and go up to the second floor between the wine bar and the Lawson supermarket. You'll end up in a beautiful, warm and inviting place. When we arrived it was 19.29 and the owner was just about to close for the day. We showed the Happy Cow app, which states the restaurant closes at 20.00. The owner said the opening hours had changed, but was happy to accommodate us anyway. Now that's great service! We ordered the "meat plate", which of course doesn't contain a trace of animal meat. Instead, it offers several distinguished tastes, some of which may resemble meat. Everything is presented beautifully and one simply doesn't know where to start, it all looks so good! The croquet may come close, but honestly I don't know what animal meat really tastes like. My personal favourite was the yuba (tofu skin) with wasabi, which makes for an excellent combination. All dishes are simple and pure, emphasising on the original taste of the ingredient (not some dressing or oil). The meal was well balanced (protein, fibre, vitamine), high quality, tasty, beautiful, healthy and fair priced. The staff was an absolute delight to talk to, they explained where the ingredients were from and why they cook the way they do. What more can you wish for? I'll certainly go back for more!
