- Good, healthy food served by nice people
We just had lunch at Gurupan and it was a pleasure to get a full vegan meal - hard to find in Argentina so far. The menu of the day consisted of a lentil dish, a eggplant-carrot dish and whole grain rice. Everything tasted very good - the seasoning was delicious and varied for each dish without drowning the flavours of the original ingredients. Also, the amount of food was quite a lot. If you go, make sure to try the grape juice they have - extremely flavourful and delicous, so much so that it comes with water in case you want to dilute it. The person running the store today spoke good English and was kind enough to tell us when we were struggling with Spanish. This is a place that serves healthy food as in whole grain bread, whole grain rice and so on, which was perfect for todays meal. They also sell a kind of vegetable pie and various types of bread which we took along and will have for dinner, since we liked lunch so much. We ended up paying 360 ARS (currently about 23 USD) for two meals of the day, two juices, a vegetable pie and a small rye bread - a fair price. There are two tables inside and one outside, but most people seem to get the food to take away. Finally, it is true that there is no written menu, but the person there today was very helpful in figuring out what we wanted.
