- Large, delicious sandwiches
Ike's is a chain in California that doesn't seem to know it's a chain (very good thing!). More than a dozen sandwiches are either vegetarian or vegan, but just about all of them can be made vegan by simply telling them to leave the cheese off. There are several bread choices; all good. The sandwiches are large enough to satisfy most appetites. The place is very clean, including the restrooms, has a sizable eating area, and the staff is polite and friendly. They're not as fast as some sandwich shops, but the quality and quantity more than make up for that. Parking in downtown Davis can be a challenge, but with perseverance, is doable.
