  • Hamelin's vegan heart

The Trattiria Castello offered a, as we think, surprisingly broad choice of vegan options (they even have a separate vegan menu) without relying on meat substitutes, but on traditional italian dishes. We ordered many different meals (soup, pasta, pizza, sorbet, antipasti) and liked all of them. One thing that we really liked was the restaurant's focus on sustainability. For example the waitress asked us if we wanted the small or the big sized pizza even though the prize was the same, just to make sure that no food would be left over. In general, they had a lot of organic and seasonal products. If you're a vegan or vegetarian or just a fan of amazing italian food, this is the place to go in Hamelin.
