- Fabulous!
This place is just the best advert for vegan food! Both the exterior and interior are beautiful, and you can see the attention to detail that has gone into it. They have perfectly captured the middle ground between bourgeois chic and hippie zen! Anyone could feel at home there. I ate there twice in one day and the atmosphere was great - there were groups of friends and families, people deep in conversation and soft music in the background. A friendly, attentive and enthusiastic team to serve and answer any questions; and all remarkably knowledgeable about all the dishes offered. As for the food, well it's out of this world. Just the right sized portions, beautifully presented, tasty, healthy, cruelty-free and reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?! I had a tasty soup of the day and the raw Zoodles medley as my starters, a delicious Green Goddess juice (full of goodness - kale, broccoli, celery, apple, cucumber, ginger & lime - and yet light, sweet and creamy), the slow-roasted vegetables were succulent and the huge Amala burger melted in the mouth and its accompaniment of coleslaw, sweet potato chips (proper chips, not crisps) and cashew mayonnaise were perfect. The side dish of "wilted spinach and kale" defied its name to be full of texture and flavour. The vanilla and cranberry cheesecake was superb. I've always been a bit wary of vegan cheese but this had no cheese in yet managed to be totally convincing. This is a place that has to be tried by vegans and non-vegans alike. It may convert more than a few! I'm delighted to find a vegan place that can be soooo good!
