Shallot is based in an old mill, in an area they rent 3-4 nights a week from The Real Junk Food Project. It's very new and has three mains each night, they ran out of one of these the night we went as there was a big group in, it has an open kitchen which i like and the staff were are really lovely and were delighted to chat. we had fish and chips and ricotta ravioli and spilt a tomato salad, the fish and chips(with mushy peas) was the better of the two but bother were pretty good. the fish was from a nearby chinese supermarket and the portion was big. the ravioli again was a decent size in a rich tomato sauce. with dishes were tasty and good value. my only criticism would be high reliance on fake meat/cheese, although these were good, as i would like to see a few healthier options on the menu. we did leave happy but a bit stodgy and unhealthy. overall would really recommend!
