• Disappointing

I had high hopes for Dandy Diner after their grand opening and all the PR but on both recent visits we were less than impressed. The staff are friendly but the food is nothing special. Their main cheeseburger seems to be emulating the McDonald's 99¢ burger (it's pretty small) but is more than three times the price. You can get much better vegan burgers elsewhere in Berlin. I certainly wouldn't travel far to get here. They do have other options - there's a tasty, smoky pulled mushroom sandwich but at over €6, that's pretty expensive for a sandwich in Berlin. The drinks aren't cheap either - everything feels more expensive compared to other places in the city. Plus both times we've been, at least part of our order has been slightly burnt, despite us being the only customers in. It seems like they've put a lot of effort into the décor (although the chairs are uncomfortable) but the food feels lacklustre. I feel awful giving a new vegan place such a bad review, but I'd be lying if I gave it much praise.
