- It's a must do if you are in Monaco!
As a Happy Cow ambassador I'm always seeking out new vegan restaurants to try while travelling or on holiday. Decided to go to Eqvita in Monaco for afternoon tea, after reading about the exciting opening of this new 100% vegan restaurant in April this year. The restaurant is owned by vegan tennis champion Novak Djokovic. First impressions - the atmosphere is chic but calm and comfortable. Staff, friendly and attentive. There is indoor seating as well as a large fresh outdoor space with a mix of sofas and tables. The menu is extensive and I will definitely return and try the mains in the future. Before I hear you gasp about Monaco prices these are surprisingly reasonable, for example Lasagne with nuts and tomatoes 16 euros or Pasta Bon Appetit with pine nuts and capers 14 euros. As for the desserts we tried – 9 and 12 euros - they were delicious, sweet and tasty without leaving you feeling heavy or in a sugar coma! I visited with my aunt who lives nearby. We tried the chocolate tart and the mango cheesecake. Both had great texture and my chocolate tart went perfectly with my almond milk cappuccino. Bliss.... It was late in the day so we had a cheeky glass of the organic champagne as well. The wines and juices and other drinks available looked great too. Some of the freshly made juices had fun names, such as Novak's Secret or Jelena's glow. Could be a way to improve your tennis! Maybe a nice idea in the future to introduce a nice organic barrel lager or fruit beer (sorry my personal weakness) to accompany the drinks menu. All in all a lot of thought has gone into this concept, even down to the coconut & palm sugar available on the tables. It's a must do if you are in Monaco. Recommend.
