  • Fantastic local produce

I happened upon details of this market recently searching Vegan Nottingham on Twitter. I was pleased I had the time to go along as it allowed me to eat pies and doughnuts from producers not usually accessible to me. I had a delicious doughnut from Vegan Junk Notts, and a sausage roll. My non-vegan friend enjoyed a raw cheesecake and was also pleased to be able to pick up a piece of cake with no refined sugar for her mother who avoid sugar. I enjoyed my pizza from Mission Pizza Pies, though was a bit disappointed that Cheesus Crust wasn't a pizza with a cheese crust. There were charity stalls, burgers, packaged goods, Mac + cheese, samosas, and other non-food items. There were a few chairs and stone blocks around where people could stop for a few minutes to eat. I don't know Nottingham well but it seems to be a good area for catching passersby who maybe weren't seeking vegan food stalls but willing to try something with the presented opportunity. Plusses also there is no entry fee which you have to shell out for vegan fests, and it's family friendly.
