- Top of the range all you can eat Indian buffet
As you go down Ballards Lane north from Finchley Central tube right on to Long Lane, you will see red awnings with "Rani" and "Vegetarian" emblazoned on them. Decor is pleasant, with a black and red colour scheme. The buffet is situated in its own area to the left as you walk in. There is a range of starters, mains and afters. Most of it is vegan and everything is labeled to indicate whether it is. The food was good and wait staff checked and refreshed it regularly. Service was polite and attentive. Plates had to be replaced at every trip to the buffet as their policy was for people to use new plates for every trip. If you are going for a regular meal instead of a massive quantity, and you want a particular dish you will do as well to order from the a la carte menu as it will work out the same as the buffet cost wise. At around ₤15 a head with drinks and service for one for dinner it is more than your average curry house, but the quality is better. I guess it's more than a four for me, especially as they have been awarded five stars for hygiene by the local environmental health department, which is a great achievement, especially for a buffet restaurant.
