  • Can't fault these guys on anything

Ordered: Vegetarian lunch set (it says vegetarian but is vegan too). Got some tempura fu (traditional Japanese wheat gluten) with a sauce that tasted similar to green curry, vegan miso soup, brown rice, salad, some pickled veg, and a shot of citrus tasting juice that may have been yuzu with a bit of lime. This place is in a quieter area of Arashiyama that’s a little out of the way but is close to Monkey Park. Is also close to the Hankyu Arashiyama station. The menu is in broken English, but there’s enough information to get by on. This place serves meat but the menu is mostly vegan. As such, there are lots of vegan options here! One is the vegetarian lunch set. The others are taco rice, tomato and veg pasta, and veg curry. I ordered the veg lunch set. It was DELICIOUS and quite generous in serving size too. With the lunch set, you can choose whether you want white or brown rice. There is also a good selection of vegan desserts too! I personally didn’t order any (I was the only one in my group who wanted savoury food) but my non-veg family ordered some. My mum and cousin ordered the apple cake, while my aunty ordered the matcha tofu cake. All loved it! My cousin also ordered an ice coffee with regular milk (it comes with soy milk by default, you have to ask to change to regular milk) which she enjoyed. The food took a while to come since there was only two people working, but wasn’t too long. No more than 10 minutes. FYI: If my interpretation of their website is correct, they also hold events like miso-making workshops, plant workshops, social events, and lectures on how to get the best out of your running work-out. Not too sure about this though! As an extra pro: the whole vibe of the place is very health/nutrition focused, so you can be sure that you're getting a healthy meal that will energise and fill you up! :)
