- Delicious veggie food, very spicy
The complex next to the temple and monastery (on the right) contains a teahouse and two vegetarian restaurants. The downstairs is a buffet where you make your own hotpot and sauces - when we tried it was a disaster! But upstairs there is an a la carte restaurant where you make your choices from a tablet. The staff (all volunteers) are simply delightful and speak some English, and food is simply delicious. Beware of the spicy dishes though - we thought we were used to hot food but there were so many chillies in one of our dishes that we couldn't eat it. Even the less spicy dishes are quite hot. The dumplings are great, as are the noodles, and there is a lovely dish with water chestnuts. We were staying across the road and went here 4 times. One of the best vegetarian restaurants we found in China.
