- Cosy atmosphere, great food...
...in fact, the only negative I think of to say about this place is that it is not fully vegan. Luckily though, the staff are more than happy to help vegans with the menu and are certainly knowledgeable about what vegan means. They are very friendly too, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming as is the décor; the brick walls contrast with modern features really well. The breakfasts are heavy on eggs, but later in the day vegans are well catered for with generous portions of hummus with pita and salad - I had this with aubergine and an extra dip of tahini, and was full, and it was clear that the food was fresh. I didn't try it, but was also told that the cous cous with beef can be prepared as vegan, with baked aubergine. There's also a selection of drinks, including alcohol, and some really interesting flavours of juice, such as date and pomegranate. For a juice, hummus and dip I paid 17 Euro, which is mid-range for Amsterdam, and based on the quality, portion size and service, I would say this is good value.
