  • Mildred's - Best veggie food in London

We loved this restaurant. Despite being extremely crowded when we arrived without a reservation, they made a special effort to fit us in when it started to rain on our outdoor table. Mildred's is located on a small, not immediately obvious street in Soho, and though it's not a little place, it as a challenge to navigate for me. I arrived in a wheelchair and though I am able to walk a bit with a crutch, getting to a rest room required more effort then I would have liked (it's down a fairly long set of stairs). But the food at Mildred's made me forget the stairs and the rain. I had a delicious, unusual, spicy sweet-potato soup to begin, followed by what they call Sri Lankan sweet potato and cashew nut curry on yellow basmati rice with coconut tomato sambal. The curry was creamy and quite delicious. My partner had organic black bean burrito, with red pepper and green tomatillo rice. I tasted it and it was great. Our experience was further enhanced by our interaction with their flamboyant frontman, Hugo, who is all smiles and determined to personally solve every problem.
