- I wish I had it back home. :)
I visited La Verde twice during my last visit to Lima. This place is run by the owners of El Almazen, a few doorsteps away. We had quiches, tarts and other desserts (although there is a "dessert menu", it is not so stable, so it's necessary to check what they have on that day). Everything was delicious, specially the potato quiche and the "Ponche Andino", a drink which is actually more of a porridge which felt very nutritious. The only thing I can note is that, although I enjoyed it, the "alfajor" texture and taste was far from the traditional one. The staff was very friendly and attentive to each of our requests; and the atmosphere was pleasant. The cafe is rather small, but if gets packed they are willing to make some extra space for you.
