- delicious dim sum from a neighbourhood joint
our hostel owner highly recommended this dim sum eatery nearby when he heard my mum and i are vegetarians. he said he has been patronising it for years, as his mother is vegetarian too. it's a no-frills neighbourhood joint where a variety of dim sum is laid out in front of the store. help yourself with whatever you want and bring it to the counter for payment before sitting down. we enjoyed our choices and also had bean juice that day. worth a visit if you're around the area. just opposite is the eastern vegetable market and a short stroll away is the old tainan magistrate residence.
