  • great fruit desserts at any time of the day

according to my taiwanese friend, tainan is known for fruit stalls where people order and eat cut fruits. lily fruit store is probably the most famous of these. after dinner/supper, five of us shared a large fruit platter, mango shaved ice and watermelon+pineapple fruit juice. the platter had a good variety of local seasonal fruit (including watermelon, kiwi, mango, papaya, grape, apple, pear, dragon fruit) and the juice was delicious. i'm not a fan of sweet desserts and only had a few bites of the mango ice dessert(芒果牛乳冰), which was delicately shaved and the chunky and slightly sour mango pieces added bite and balance to its overall sweetness. my mum who has a sweet tooth found it yummy and also enjoyed some kind of bean shaved ice (which she likened to korean patbingsu) on a second visit. some of the shaved ice desserts (those with "牛乳") contain milk, so please enquire if you're vegan.
