  • Blissful Days at Ai Love Nalo

The fact that Ai Love Nalo is a little far away from town shouldn't discourage you from making the trip out here! This is the best kind of restaurant-one where you can't decide what to eat because there's so many fantastic choices.. Yesterday, I had my favorite "Medi-Bowl" with kalo falafel, beet hummus, babbaganoush and tabouleh. The restaurant was busier than usual (for a Sunday), due to a permaculture event happening. Still, it was very relaxing in their "Garden of Eatin'" (listening to live Reggae music from the event), and I could have stayed there all day. I also recommend the "Oh Wow, Lau Lau" and the BBQ portobello mushroom sandwich. The swirled fruit soft-serve sundae is also so good! Try everything--you won't be disappointed! The food is really delicious and the service with a smile. I always try to get in a visit to Waimanalo Beach after eating here. The coastal drive is breathtakingly beautiful, although a lot of traffic on weekends. Plan to hang around Waimanalo and bliss out after your meal. Note: As of Feb 2018, I am downgrading my rating from 5 to 4 stars, after a recent visit. Food still tastes delicious. Unfortunately, not only have the prices been increased, but the portion sizes have shrunk dramatically. Updated from previous review on 2017-05-08
