- salty produce aisle
If munching on raw veggies and salt is your idea of a good 2000 yen meal then come here. I was pretty disappointed though. Salad bar was unlimited but mediocre. Soup was one time and I was glad, as it was the saltiest oversalted miso soup I've ever had and I LOVE salty food. My meal was soy meat with eggplant. The guy brings out a plate of straight up raw vegetables, rice, and a little mound of stewed eggplant. I try it - bland and sort of salty. I wait for 10 minutes, assuming the soy meat is on the way. Finally I ask the guy and he goes it's in the eggplant, right? I poke through the untouched eggplant and just look at him, upon which he runs off and returns with the most measly bowl of sad little soy chunks I've ever seen. It's stewed, and sort of salty. Combined, the two taste like a slightly higher quality canned veg meal. Not bad.. Definitely not great. Chocolate cake was sort of like a 7/11 brownie, maybe a bit less dry. At least it wasn't salty. Next time I'll hit up the produce aisle of a supermarket for a meal like this. Pretty sure it'll be half the price
