  • A kara-age for the ages

A spacious restaurant near Senso-ji, well worth a visit. Decor is subtle and comfortable; the staff (all women) are very friendly, and willing to talk through dishes. English and Japanese menus available. Lunch is mostly set menus, whilst dinner has a broader a la carte choice. The kara-age (Japanese fried chicken), made of soy protein, is delicious: subtle and satisfying. 1200 yen for a filling set. Desserts are also good, though the carrot cake is a little dry. The tofu ice-cream more than makes up for it though! FM
