  • Beautiful, Delicious, Organic

Our dinner at Kaemon Asakusa looked, tasted and felt great! They are located on the THIRD FLOOR, so look up when you get there - and take the elevator. The service was very nice and our server explained and answered all my questions about meals and ingredients - ah, in Japanese, cause I speak Japanese, but she was very kind. We each got a dinner set for 1800 yen each person (about $16) and it included organic rice, miso soup, salad, kara-age soy meat (SO GOOD, best ever), eggplant and bell pepper appetizer, and chocolate cake (or fruity yogurt for me) for dessert. I simply love Japanese-style set plates, and this one was delicious and healthy-tasting (macrobiotic) at the same time. I can't wait to go back there again. ... You might want to call in advance before you come as sometimes the whole place gets booked for events. Also let them know in advance if you want pancakes, cause if they are busy, it may take a little time to make them. They are closed on Mondays, and occasionally on a Tuesday too. Last order is 2 pm for lunch and 9 pm for dinner (open till 10 pm). All vegan, organic macrobiotic, delicious and healthy restaurant that cares about Earth, organic farming, sustainability, and your health - that's Kaemon, and I can't wait to go back. There is a lot I want to try, but those kara-age fried soy meat bites were so good, I'm definitely getting that again. Oh, whether it's during day or in the evening - be sure to enjoy the Asakusa Temple - SenSoJi as it's a minute away, and quite a sight. Updated from previous review on Wednesday September 09, 2015
