  • Excellent Vietnamese food

Quy Nguyen is a small but lovely Vietnamese restaurant. English menus are available too, though the staff don't speak much English. We started with the cha gi (crispy spring rolls) and they were really delicious. We also had the steamed dumpling, banh bao, which I would also recommend. (We had been tempted by the banh xeo/crepe, but were told it takes 25 minutes to prepare, and we just couldn't wait!) For mains, the com cary was a really flavoursome curry with lots of tofu and vegetables. The cha ca was even better though, and completely different to anything I'd had before: marinated tofu wrapped in seaweed, on a bed of vegetables. The tofu was extraordinary! It was a really lovely place with great service. The only downside is that the toilet is in the bar next door, and it was in pretty bad condition when I went.
