  • The best food and experience of life

Went here while visiting Ann Arbor for business after searching for vegan places. Was not sure what to expect as restaurant was very new. I am not a big fan of new restaurant but decided to take the risk. Was greeted by very happy hostess, who brought shot glass sample of green smoothie with ancient herbs. That was most delicious green juice i have ever had. According to my server, juice was digester shot which helps activate digestive juices. I felt great and ordered large one which i think is called power of 6/7 along with cashew cheese sunflower burger and chilli soup. This was the most amazing burger, I have ever had, full of flavor and great crunch....even when compared to non vegan burgers. The soup was great too. The bun was made from sprouted grains and felt as if i was doing my body a great favor. I finished my dinner with chocolate terrin (made with dates and chocolate and herbs without any sugar). This was one of the best dinner I can remember and was thinking about the food all the way back to my hotel. Next day, went there for early brunch but was closed. Then went for lunch and had the Himalayan bowl and strawberry cake (again made without sugar with figs, strawberries and coconuts). Both of them were delicious and felt great after eating it. Had to conclude my trip to Ann Arbor with dinner at back2roots to try other dishes. Ordered jackedfruit wrap and blackbean burger. Both were delicious, had leftovers which i brought back to new jersey for my omnivore husband, who enjoyed it too.. My last dinner in Ann Arbor I met the owner who told me that the food is GMO free and made without any synthetic color or flavor, white flour or sugars. He also said that the food is made on cast iron or steel. They do not use aluminum cookwares. After that what i heard from him made me proud of my choice to become vegan. He is very passionate about food he is creating and overall mission. Learnt many things about how energy flows from sun to food to body, inflammation related to food and how so many diseases are associated with food we eat. Will definitely be back, if not on business trip then for food tourism with my husband. This is definitely the best food i have had, best restaurant I have been too and most i have learnt about food as fuel for human machines. Hats off to this labor of love and wish the owner the best of luck in his journey. I hope he will bring his restaurant to NJ.
