Kiwi Café Tbilisi: the one and only non-profit LGBT-friendly anti-racist anti-sexist anti-speciesist anti-ageist vegan cafe in Tbilisi (and the whole country of Georgia), anno 2015. I first heard of it when the café, back then located at Verckhli street 41, got attacked by 'sausage-wielding nationalists', local far-right extremists, in may 2016. Fast-forward to today, they occupy a nice big space at Ivane Machabeli street 6. Being non-profit, their prices and staff are minimal, but max. friendly and welcoming. Also the size: I disagree with anyone saying their dishes are tiny. I had a lentil soup and simple hummus with veggies and I was well satisfied for just a few €. Falafel wrap is the most famous item on their menu, while buckwheat with tofu might be the most exciting dish for tourists from the west. Fresh homemade mint lemonade is always a good idea, but if you have been in the country for days and craving a soy latte, this is your dream come true! Pretty little baklavas with green pistachio sprinkles will satisfy your sweet tooth, while you take a look at their walls or peek in the brochures and books on their shelf.
