If anyone is looking to take a day trip from Hong Kong Island via the ferry to Mui Wo, at time of writing this is the schedule:- Central Ferry pier 6 - 10.30 Arr Mui Wo 11.20 / 11.25 Bus #1 from Mui Wo, dep 11.30 Arr Lung Chai, 12.08 Walk to monastery - 10 mins Walk from monastery - 10 mins Bus #1 from Lung Chai, 13 50 Arr Mui Wo, 14 40 Dep Mui, 14 50 Arr Central Ferry pier 6, 15 30 The bus stops aren't opposite each other. On getting off at the bus stop on the way to the monastery, continue walking in direction the bus was going and turn 1st right up the hill. For the return journey walk down hill from the monastery. On reaching the main road turn left towards Tai O. The bus stop is around 50 metres in that direction. The food at the monastery is inexpensive at 60 hkd per person for set menu. The number of dishes provided depends on the number of people in the group. I thought the food was great value. I wish I was there in a bigger group as some of the food presented to the bigger groups looked great. There's a tower in the monastery with room of 10 000 buddhas on the top floor. Its a beautiful building inside and the view from there across Lantau to the sea to the west is fab.
