  • BEST VEGETARIAN STALL IN KK

OVO VEGETARIAN. This is my favourite vegetarian stall in KK! It has the standard economy rice stall. NOT BUFFET! Economy rice is a plate of rice and some pre cooked dishes to add then you pay for that amount based on that one plate. Buffet is paying one set price and eating as much as you want. They have hawker style ala carte dishes that you can order as well. Very accommodating for vegans. Let them know you don't want any eggs beforehand if you're vegan. I tried the ala carte food but it wasn't anything special for me. But the economy rice section! OMG. It's my favourite! About 20 different choices and they are all delicious for me! Love, love, love their tempeh with beans, spicy mock meats and tofu curry. Comes with a free bowl of hot herbal bean soup. Ask the staff which dishes has eggs in them if you're not familiar with Asian dishes. Food are delicious, and decently priced compared to other hawker style shops in KK. I always pay about RM7 for one plate of large servings of three types of dishes. Environment is okay, quite clean. Tables are shared with other stalls. Tons of choices for non-vegetarian friends, which is what I love most about the place. Unlike the food court in Centre Point, this place is actually quite clean and has better variety. Not advocating the meat based stalls, but they have a burger shop, kuih stall (Malaysian cakes), a halal Muslim stall, and non-halal Chinese cafe. They also have a convenience store (Pick n Pay) which sells lots of goods and a section selling freshly cut fruit, fresh fruit juices, maki sushi (they have vegan options, but their sushi rice is badly prepared so don't bother), pastas (lacto veg available), salads (ovo veg available) and sandwiches (vegan options available). However, although the food at Pick n Pay is made by them, the only one made to order are the sandwiches. Everything else is premade/pre-prepared. This is the place I bring my non-vegetarian friends for lunch because there are so many [censored] choices, in a really clean environment, and you can actually eat at the very same table. There's literally everything for everyone so my friends and I haven't had any complaints so far. Plus, its so clean (probably due to the fact that its new), unlike most food courts in KK! Can you tell I really love this place? I love this place. HOW TO GET THERE From the main entrance, go straight until you see the first escalator. Go up the escalator to the 2nd floor (or until you see a prawn noodle shop). Enter the lane on the left past some women's clothing stores. You will see a small signage saying "All About Food food court" on your left hand side. You will see lots of tables and the vegetarian stall is between the halal stall and the burger stall. Its easy to miss the food court but once you're at the food court its not hard to miss the vegetarian stall. TIP Go during lunch hours (12:00pm) for freshly cooked economy rice dishes. Don't bother coming past 2:00pm if you're there for the economy rice because the food will either be limited or there will be none at all! Closes at 5:00pm.
