- Amazingly Good!
Los Angeles seems to be the epicenter of vegetarian and vegan restaurants. Throw a dart on the L.A. map and you will hit a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. So it was no surprise to find Vegetable close to Universal Studios where we had spent the day. What was surprising was how amazingly good everything was at Vegetable. We were a family of 7, so we got to taste a lot of different dishes. I had the Cream of Roasted Cauliflower and the Grilled Spicy Sweet Potato. OMG! Every bite was a delight. Nicely spiced, even a meat eater would enjoy these dishes. DH had the Three-Bean Chili and Saffron-Infused Pan-Seared Savory Corn Cake. I will never look at corn cakes the same way again. This one had a crunchy crust and a moist interior, was perfectly spiced and seared, on a bed of kale, with pico de gallo, and some awesome sauces. The others had Chickpea & Three-Bean Stew, Kale & Quinoa salad, Spicy BBQ Sweet Potato sandwich, and Tomato & Basil Soup. They were all without fail deliciously prepared. The meal was so good that DH and I came back the next night by ourselves for more of the good stuff. We ended sharing an applecake for dessert. We will be back soon!
