- Great choices for vegans
Lucky me - this branch of "Whole Foods" opened just a few days before I arrived in the Woodlands. Apart from all the fresh fruit, veggies and other "regular" grocery stuff they have quite a variety of vegan food items: deep-freeze burgers and pizza, ice cream, cheese, sour cream, sushi, sweets, crackers, fresh scones and other pastry - you name it. Not to forget the deli and salad bar with many vegan items, all labelled as such! If you buy take-away stuff for lunch or dinner (warm vegan samosas!) you can have it inside at one of the many tables or - if the weather permits - just outside, on one of the benches along Lake Woodlands. Quite nice.
