  • disappointing crepe, good tea, no refunds.

The first time I came here, I ordered a turmeric elixir tea. It definitely healed the period cramps I walked in with. The second time, I ordered a scone and The Garden of Eatin crêpe. The blueberry coconut scone, to my annoyance, crumbled in my hands with every bite... but it's gluten free and had a nice flavor, so it wasn't awful. Got it with clotted coconut cream (kinda just like coconut yogurt) and apricot jam. The crepe was honestly pretty revolting - a dysharmonious raw kale salad with a brush of pesto folded in a chewy gluey sourdough-like GF crepe. I had a hard time getting it down. Kale/avo/apple/lemon juice is a pretty good salad, but throw on some pesto and wrap it in a crepe? Nope. It'd have been better had it been sauteed with mushrooms, hold the avo. But the kale was raw, the lemon juice gave everything a sour taste. It was overall weird, not savory and delicious. The waitress was hinting at me to get the cashew cheese sauce but I didn't want to spend the extra money for cashew sauce. In retrospect, it might have made it passable. Not to be basic, but I tried to send it back, but they don't do returns. The kind waitress with cool funky style offered to doctor it up, but - I'm sorry - no add-ons could make up for that nastiness. Like, the crêpe itself is non-redeemable, unless it was soaking in a bechamel or some sauce. Even the avocado when I tried it alone tasted off. I trust they use great ingredients, it's a SUPER charming atmosphere, perfect for tea time, but I cannot vouch for their food tbh. And I spent $18 for something I didn't even eat. Huge bummer.
