  • Local Food Veganised!

I was fortunate enough to have a chat with the owner whilst waiting for my friend to arrive for our lunch date. Her and her husband went vegan over 20 years ago and have slowly influenced their family to do so as well, and to cater to the needs of her family members she decided to open a restaurant which now serves to vegans and non-vegans alike. She is so passionate in the food she creates that it shows. Her most popular dishes are the Assam Laksa, which I thought closely resembles the real thing; the Burgers - we tried the soy pattie and my lunch mate thought it tasted exactly like fish fillet! The Vietnamese Rice Rolls were spectacular, with fresh ingredients rolled in delicate rice paper, served with a very moorish dipping sauce; the Fried "Butter" Oyster Mushrooms were crisp and perfectly golden paired well with a custard- like 'butter' sauce. All the desserts are made fresh daily by the owner, there were even raw desserts such as the Tiramisu which I thought was quite decadent, we also had the warm Brownie which came with their home- made ice cream. On top of that, she insisted we try the Green Tea ice cream which she made using freshly ground matcha - and if you love green tea the way I do, you'll love this! I probably went into a food coma after this, but it was well worth it! The atmosphere was homey yet it got quite crowded over lunch time, which was impressive seeing that the area is a housing estate and most of the clientele are office people. Definitely give this place a visit if you're rolling by KL.
