This is a cheap and cheerful student bar inside the National Taipei University of Business. It serves simple, cheap student grub, including club sandwiches (with salad, fake meat etc) and a basic vegetable curry. Visit at lunch for an opportunity to see young Taiwanese students enjoying themselves. It's a pleasant 1km walk from Taipei Main Station or 2-28 Peace Park, or just a few minutes walk from Shandao Temple Station. Most items are between twenty and fifty NT dollars. If you are going hiking or somewhere else away from vegetarian restaurants (difficult in Taiwan) and need some take-out food easy to carry, eat on the go and clean up afterwards (eg sandwiches), this could be the place. 5 stars because while it's not a five-star meal, Joy Bar is brilliant at doing what it does: serving affordable vegan food to students. Staff are friendly, and it has a great vibe.
