Finally an Indian vegetarian restaurant in the area! The restaurant has an extensive selection of Indian Dishes (with some South Indian specialties), plus some dishes from other Asian countries. When I asked for vegan options I was told that most of the dishes were actually vegan, the waitress showed me some exceptions on the menu card and told me that they do not use ghee (clarified butter, often used in Indian kitchen in about every dish including "plain" rice). I went for Medu Vada (a special South Indian snack) as a starter and a Thali (Indian meal made up of a selection of various dishes). Although the waitress seemed to know about veganism the Medu Vada came with some yoghurt sauce, a pity because this made me question the rest of the food as well. But then I asked again and decided to believe it really was by accident. The food was tasty. Since usually a non-vegan dessert is part of the Thali's and they don't have vegan ones I was offered to have a coffee or an Indian tea (with cardamon) instead. All in all in was a nice experience and I hope that many other veg folks will find their way to this restaurant. And in the end I also had my vegan dessert - at "Spirit", about three minutes walk from "Evergreen Veggies". Updated from previous review on Sunday April 26, 2015 Downgrading, because I kept receiving clearly non-vegan items when coming back (always at least yogurt). Not sure anymore if I can trust the ingredients of the rest of the food. Also, I came twice specially for the dosa which is on their menu, and they did not have it. Another guest told me they do not make them anymore. Probably true, but would have been nice if the staff had told me then when I asked.
