- Nothing special
After a nice trek in Pat Sin Leng country park, I ended up in Fanling at around lunch time. Fung Ying Seen Koon Restaurant is ideally located in a modern (Buddhist?) temple, just next to the MTR station. At exit B, take the bridge, then the small pedestrian tunnel on the left, and it is just a 2-minute walk to the entrance of the temple. Walk up the stairs and turn left - you'll find signs indicating the way to the vegetarian canteen. The room is quite big, round tables, a bit messy, noisy, many people. Mostly traditionnel mushroom/tofu-dishes on the menu. But it was nice to be here after spending 4 hours on the trails. I took some spring rolls (not bad) and vegetable noodles (wasn't impressed as there was far too much mushroom/tofu and very few green veggies). Quantity is ok, price reasonable (less than HKD100 for those 2 dishes). Overall it's a decent place that I would recommend if you come around, though I could understand that you may not want to specifically endure the 1h00 MTR-trip MTR from Central to come here.
