- Heaven on Earth!
We had the pleasure of staying at Bed and Broccoli in November 2012. I honestly think that this is the nicest accommodation that I have ever stayed in, because it is the most peaceful and most relaxing. The B&B / retreat is like a little piece of heaven on Earth. The owners of the B&B, Nikki & Scott, were incredibly kind to us and made us feel at home from the very beginning. The living area has a lovely spacious bedroom, clean bathroom area and a kitchenette with dining table and chairs. This goes through to a big living room. In the living room there is a sofa, TV and stereo. There is also a good selection of books, CD's and films for entertainment. Guests are of course permitted to spend time with the animal residents and the owners take great pride in sharing the stories of how the animals came to live at Bed and Broccoli. The animals are exceptionally well cared for and we really enjoyed interacting with them and discovering their personalities. At the time of our stay a female peafowl, Delilah, had just begun to raise her little babies. The proud peacock father, Samson, was always nearby. This was a truly lovely sight to see. The B&B is also home to hens, roosters, cows and two dogs. During our time at the B&B we felt very relaxed. For us it was a chance to connect with nature and unwind. We could even see the stars at night - not something that we typically see in England! The vegan food was also amazing. Nikki's scrambled tofu is perhaps the best breakfast that I have ever had and my partner was a massive fan of Nikki's white chocolate mud cake. Bed and Broccoli would make a great get away destination for veggie or vegan couples. Even those who are not veggie but veggie curious would benefit from staying here and learning more about the cruelty-free lifestyle through connecting with the animals and spending time with Nikki & Scott. A lovely stay and certainly the highlight of our trip to Australia - by a mile.
