• Wonderful Place, Wonderful Food

We used to love Amrita Garden as for many years it was the only western style restaurant in Chiang Mai with a vegan menu. Although the menu always has been and still is completely vegan, they still offer some non-vegan desserts. They do however sell vegan desserts as well including cookies, muffins, cakes and some particularly good raw vegan cheesecakes. Over recent years some very strong competition from other fully vegan restaurants has developed and the quality from Amrita seems to have gone down. For example, the amazing pasta dish they used to sell has for some reason been taken off the menu! They have introduced an interesting range of burgers although they don't offer chips which for us makes the meal incomplete. In their favour they do offer some unique Japanese-inspired dishes that can't be found in other places in Chiang Mai. The setting is also very lovely in a pretty garden and old wooden house. The owners are also very sweet. Come here if you want something different but we aware it is quite health-focused and if you are looking to get really full it's kind of hard to do on the food here.
