- Fine if you're in the area
We visited on a Sunday lunchtime as part of a family day out in London. I had heard great things about the buffet and was also looking forward to trying the famous Spice Island Pie for dessert. The staff were friendly, and we were delighted to hear that they wouldn't be charging us for the child's meal. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed with the buffet - only a small selection of dishes, and no real signs of the creative and interesting ideas that are present on the evening menu. Several of the desserts were sold out, so we gave that a miss in the end. If I lived nearby, I would probably visit fairly regularly for a solid, healthy lunch. However, I don't think 222 is exciting enough for a special trip - not at lunchtime, anyway.
