- Vegan Holiday in the Snow - A Time to Remember!
We've spent an all too short week at Almi's. Though the Restaurant is omnivore, there's nothing a vegan heart could miss. There's a special vegan menu card, a vegan wine menu, and vegan hotel guests get a vegan menu card printed for them every day - made with an incredible amount of skill, care and creativity! Breakfast for us was a bounty of vegan delicacies, with vegan basics and special treats and homemade specialities, and little but lovely surprises every day. Moreover, we were asked to provide ourselves with sandwiches from the breakfast buffet for our hiking tours - really very generous. A speciality of the house is the Granderwasser, from a draught like an ancient well - I can't explain why or how, but tastes truly delicious. Food overall was plenty, made with a lot of love and thought, and prepared to please the eye no less - a pleasure to look at, and to eat. Not really cheap, but good value and more. Hotel owners are very considerate and caring, and I hope they'll have many more vegan guests to encourage them on their way - they deserve it!
