  • Good food!

Beirut was a welcome meal after traveling in Panama for over 2 weeks and struggling to eat well as a vegan. We tried to find 4 other Happy Cow listed restaurants (all closed or too hard to locate) before finding Beirut, but we were happy to be there. It was New Year's Eve 2014 and they were preparing for a big NYE party, but the manager took care of us and made sure we got a meal. He also spoke in English to us to make sure that we could ask questions about the food and feel comfortable with the ingredients. He understood the concept of veganism and even suggested a well-rounded meal to us. I read the other reviews and agree that the rest of the staff seemed unfriendly and mostly self-absorbed, but when the manager was around, they did what he said. Too bad the manager isn't serving all of the tables there. They could definitely use some training on customer service. But if you focus on the food and fresh juices and enjoy the company at your table, the rest of this stuff won't matter. Parking was right out front. They are across from a casino, making it a bit easier to find. Cool patio area, and yes, in the city, there will be traffic noise on that patio. Try the fresh watermelon juice.
