  • Low-key, but excellent food

Took a long while to journey all the way down here from the centre of town, but it turned out to be worth it. When first entering, the decor is rather low-key and unassuming, and might have you wondering if you're going to get a cut-price experience. Not at all. The service was excellent, with the chef himself coming out front to discuss the menu; and the food was just as good. I had an aubergine steak with risotto, and was thoroughly satisfied. All prices include tax, thus removing one of my main gripes about eating in North American restaurants (why do I need to know the pre-tax price?); and tipping was actively discouraged via a sign on the wall (presumably because the staff are actualle being paid a decent wage). All round recommended.
