- Amazing food at a great restaurant
I've been to Philly three times in the past month, and they were all for the purpose of going to Vegan Commissary. I've had brunch there once and dinner twice. The brunch was amazing. I had biscuits and gravy, which I wanted to keep eating forever. The first time at dinner I had the Chef's Burger, which changes every week. It was really good and definitely not something you see at other places. They are really creative with toppings. This time I had the Cemita, which had about half of a perfect avocado on top of it. It was a huge sandwich, and delicious. The strawberry-rhubarb pie was like heaven. The service is great, too. One thing that is very cool is that tax and tip are included in the price, and they pay their employees a living wage with benefits. There is free parking on the streets in the neighborhood, which is an added bonus. I think Vegan Commissary has some of the best food in Philly. The prices are good, too, especially when you consider that they include tax and tip. A typical entree is around $12.
