  • But it's all right now, in fact, it's a gas!

A really nice and homely veggie cafe just a little way up the bank on the right after coming off North Road. The coffee is pretty awesome and worth the effort alone. Food is freshly prepared, tasty and quite creative. Since they changed hands in 2017 the predominantly vegan menu has become more USA / fast food influenced with burgers and hot dogs served with fries in red plastic baskets. There’s also a selection of wraps and an impressive looking vegan cake or brownie. We had a ham and cheese wrap and a mexican chilli dog both served with traditional fries which were subsequently drizzled in tomato ketchup. They were both priced at around £6.95 which was most reasonable. A prefect place to start a long day at the Durham Miner’s Gala.
