- Nice little shop and cafe
Those who are looking for highly processed meat substitutes will not find what they are looking for here. Those who are looking for beautiful, healthy, fresh, vibrant wholefoods and a great selection of raw chocolates, raw crackers, raw biscuits, raw cereals, organic tempeh, tofu and patties will be very happy! This is the place to go in Dunedin for crisp & fresh organic fruit and vegetables, as well as organic dried goods, spices, condiments etc. The prices are better than the Wellington equivalent (Commonsense organics) and the staff are friendly & helpful. They also have lots of seeds and organic gardening books on sale. I went to the newly opened cafe, which has a lovely atmosphere and great surroundings. I tried the vegan chickpea and tomato soup with bread. The bread was delicious, the soup was hearty and warm but could have used a bit more seasoning & bigger bowls as the serving sizes left me still hungry. I saw that they had a vegan ginger crunch and a selection of salads, I am looking forward to trying these next time I visit. Prices slightly higher than the typical cafe, but everything is organic and made with wholefoods so it is worth paying for.
