  • A quickbite

Universo Vegano is a place worth visiting for a quick lunch or dinner. The place is most of all a burger joint, offering different kinds of bread with different kinds of filling; traditional burger, "tuna", "ham" and that sort of thing - plus a relatively boring piece of lettuce and tomato - and mayo of course. For between 3 and 4 euro extra you can get some potato crocettes and a bottled water, making the most expensive meal cost somewhere around 9 euro. For a dinner in Rome, that's cheap. There's also some salad choises and desert options (fruit or tiramisu). I tried the foccacia, the "tuna" sandwich, the burger, the crocettes and the tiramisu dessert. A common feature was that the amount was ok (i'm a tall guy with huge food cravings), the filling was tasty - but the bread a little dry. I could have wished for the buns to be roasted or at least heated more. Some more interesting lettuce could be nice too, but overall it's a decent meal. The tiramisu is fantastic beyond any description. The place is very nicely located, but has a lack of good seating. Next time i come i will probably ask for take away and bring the food to a more cosy place. There was also a single gluten free option.
