- Nice vegan café but could do better
JO Johannis is a great addition for vegans in Nuremberg. They offer one daily meal, cakes and ice cream. I had the daily meal once. It was good but rather simple. I also went there for ice cream several times. They have a lot of different flavors and the ice cream is pretty good. I can also recommend their home-made ice teas. Unfortunately, I find the service a bit too low-level and rather unfriendly. I heard the phrase, "We are a vegan café and therefore we do not offer this" way too often when people asked for certain ice-cream flavors or beverages with dairy. Most of these things can easily be made vegan and I don't see a point in lecturing customers (including kids) and to scare them off rather than offering alternatives in a friendly way.
