  • Good dining option at Zhongshan Park

With no vegetarian restaurants in the area, this is my usual dining choice when I get hungry after an afternoon at the nearby Tian Shan Tea City. The menu is in English and Chinese and while largely non-vegetarian there are a few good vegan options such as cold bean curd rolls filled with raw vegetables in vinegar sauce, fried mini potatoes (highly recommended) and steamed root vegetables. The portion sizing is big enough that 2-3 dishes will fill you up which sets you back a very reasonable 40-60RMB. The fried dishes aren't oily at all and the oil they use is of the clean, non-sticky kind. The waiters are friendly and the dishes are served quickly which altogether makes this a good dining option if you don't want to travel further away for a vegetarian restaurant.
